Carl Zeiss Research Award
The Carl Zeiss Research Award is presented every two years to scientists for outstanding achievements in international optical research.

This prize, and the Otto Schott Award presented in alternate years for special achievements in the field of glass research, was offered by the Carl Zeiss Stiftung (Carl Zeiss Foundation) for the first time in 1987 and allocated the sum of EUR 25,000. The Carl Zeiss Research Award is financed from the Ernst Abbe Fund in the Donors' Association for the Promotion of Science in Germany.
